PSUs: The Opportunity is Now!
Mughal emperor Akbars darbar (court) had nine extraordinary men who advised him on different matters. Conferred with the title of Navratna (nine gems) they soared to almost legendary heights in their respective area of activity. The modern day Navratnas in India, honoured by the Government of India, are the | new crown jewels of the nation. These Navratnas are the best Indian homegrown companies, which have become the flag-bearers in their respective area of activity. For e.g., companies like ONGC, NTPC, SBI etc. have almost become synonymous with Oil, Power and Banking respectively, in India. | | But fortunately for investors, unlike Akbars court, this is not an exclusive club. The mini-ratna companies in India are getting ready to break into the big league and are standing out for their efficiency and performance. With more and more PSUs entering the market like NHPC, Oil India etc., and many more on the roadmap, the opportunities are ever expanding. | | Religare PSU Equity Fund will invest in such public sector undertakings (PSUs) in India, and give you the chance to be the modern day Akbar. | | 1, 2 Source: D& B Report | Portfolio Characteristics

Hello Friends, Good Morninggggggggggg,
This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen...
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:
"I don't believe that God exists."
"Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:
"You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.
"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because
if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."
"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."
If you think God exists, send this to other people---
If you think God does not exist, delete it!
BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS !!!!!!! |

Bank Fixed Deposits have now lowered interest rates. M.I.P. schemes of mutual Funds offer several advantages over Bank F.D.s, such as [1] Safety- [A] Amounts above Rs. 1 lakh as FDs in all Banks combined are NOT guarantteed. Whereas MIP schemes invest in SEVERAL GOOD COMPANIES AS CORPORATE DEBT, CALL MONEY and SEVERAL BANKS - ALL OF WHICH HAVE GOOD RISK RATING. [B] MORE OVER the risks are spread 25 times over in case of MIP as compared to concentration of entire amount with a single bank. [C] MIP s do have a risk wrt a small portion up to 30% of investment which is invested in equity. Birla Sun Life MIP II - Savings 5 Plan as the name suggests invests up to 5 % ONLY in equity. The typical portfolio is given under. That is whereyour money in MIP goes. Do have a close look. Ask if any query. [2] RETURNS are FAR SUPERIOR AS COMPARED TO Bank FDs. [3] FLEXIBILITY ONE CAN WITHDRAW MONEY ANY MOMENT - EVEN THE VERY SAME WEEK. BANK FD YOU ARE STUCK. | Sharing Success | | | | | | | Fund Portfolio | | | | Portfolio of Birla Sun Life MIP II - Savings 5 Plan as on 31st August 2009 Total Assets : Rs. 204.04 Crores Equity | No | Name of the company sort | Sector sort | P/E Ratio | % of total Assets sort | 1 | Ashok Leyland Ltd | Auto | 0 | 0.19 | 2 | Bajaj Holdings & Investment Ltd. | Auto | 0 | 0.13 | 3 | Bharat Earth Movers Ltd | Industrial Capital Goods | 0 | 0.1 | 4 | Biocon Ltd | Pharmaceuticals | 0 | 0.13 | 5 | Birla Corporation Ltd | Cement | 0 | 0.09 | 6 | Canara Bank | Banks | 0 | 0.09 | 7 | Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd | Consumer Non Durable | 0 | 0.08 | 8 | Container Corporation Of India Ltd | Miscellaneous | 0 | 0.11 | 9 | Cummins India Ltd | Industrial Products | 0 | 0.29 | 10 | Dabur India Ltd | Consumer Non Durable | 0 | 0.08 | 11 | Elecon Engineering Company Ltd | Industrial Capital Goods | 0 | 0.2 | 12 | Gateway Distriparks Ltd | Miscellaneous | 0 | 0.16 | 13 | GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare Ltd | Consumer Non Durable | 0 | 0.03 | 14 | Godrej Consumer Products Ltd | PersonalCare-Ind | 0 | 0.1 | 15 | Grasim Industries Ltd | Cement | 0 | 0.08 | 16 | ICICI Bank Ltd | Banks | 0 | 0.1 | 17 | Indiabulls Financial Services Ltd | Finance | 0 | 0.09 | 18 | Indian Hotels Co Ltd | Hotels | 0 | 0.07 | 19 | Indraprastha Gas Ltd | Gas | 0 | 0.24 | 20 | Infosys Technologies Ltd | Software | 0 | 0.11 | 21 | Infrastructure Development Finance Company Ltd | Finance | 0 | 0.17 | 22 | ITC Ltd | Consumer Non Durable | 0 | 0.09 | 23 | Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd | Power | 0 | 0.14 | 24 | Madras Cements Ltd | Cement | 0 | 0.06 | 25 | Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd | Diversify-Med/Sm | 0 | 0.24 | 26 | NHPC Ltd | Finance | 0 | 0.31 | 27 | Oriental Bank of Commerce | Banks | 0 | 0.19 | 28 | Rallis India Ltd | Pesticides | 0 | 0.08 | 29 | Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd | Power | 0 | 0.07 | 30 | Sterlite Industries (India) Ltd | Non - Ferrous Metals | 0 | 0.18 | 31 | TajGVK Hotels & Resorts Ltd | Hotels | 0 | 0.04 | 32 | Tata Consultancy Services Ltd | Software | 0 | 0.09 | 33 | Tata Steel Ltd | Ferrous Metals | 0 | 0.08 | 34 | Thermax Ltd | Industrial Capital Goods | 0 | 0.07 | 35 | Torrent Power Ltd | Power | 0 | 0.16 | 36 | Yes Bank Ltd | Banks | 0 | 0.14 | Total: | 4.57 | Portfolio of Birla Sun Life MIP II - Savings 5 Plan as on 31st August 2009 Total Assets : Rs. 204.04 Crores Average Maturity of Portfolio is 0.79 Debt No | Name of the Security sort | Issuer Class sort | Rating sort | % of total Assets sort | 1 | CALL & EQUIVALENT | CALL CASH CURRENT ASSETS | P1+ | 41.13 | 2 | CANARA BANK | Bank And Financial Institution | P1+ | 3.4 | 3 | Corporation Bank | Bank And Financial Institution | P1+ | 3.35 | 4 | HDFC LIMITED | Bank And Financial Institution | A1+ | 5.19 | 5 | HDFC LIMITED | Bank And Financial Institution | AAA | 2.28 | 6 | ICICI Home Finance Co.
